Found you trough parttimecynic's blog. I love your point of view on photo capture: "no thinking allowed". Shoot first, think later. I must say my view is similar although it contains a twist. I shoot first 1-3 shots. Then look quick, think, and maybe recompose. This gives me both the capture of the instinctive moment as well as the use of photographic know-how and composition skills. Sometimes i keep the insinct shot, sometimes the technical. But i'm always happy to have both.
If the photograph you are making is a “static” shot…which means that it will be there looking the same everyday this is fine, But if something starts happing at that moment…and you are not looking at it through a viewfinder or lens…you will have a memory in your brain not a photograph in your camera!
